‘Eye contact’ and signature arts for Yebit Island, the media gallery on Han-river.한강 미디어 갤러리 세빛 섬의 ‘아이 컨택’과 시그니처 아트

Sebit Island, a 40m x 20m kinetic LED screen barge built to provide citizens with the joy of media art on the Han River representing Seoul, a beautiful river that is comparable to any other city in the world.
To add aesthetic emotions to the riverside of Seoul along with the lighting production of Sebit Island and the lighting of Banpo Bridge, the Seoul City, and Hyosung commissioned artist JM Song, the executive director of Habitant to create four signature films.

JM Song developed EYE CONTACT which has become Habitant’s signature artwork.
The Giant who blinks its eye on the Han River and sympathizes with tender feelings and citizens of Seoul make eye contact with their respective beings, reminiscent of absolute gods or lovers.
In addition, the Greeting Flow, which aims to harmonize with the sublime nature made the hearts of citizens flutter and the time signal of Yebit island, which announces the time with the sound of a huge boat horn every hour relieved the irritation of many citizens running on the Olympic Expressway.

The screen structure, which has the function of a riverside stage, moves forward and backward to realize a multipurpose function.
This is the design of space designer Kim Chi-ho. Habitant and Kim Chi-ho continue to collaborate, which started with the Sony Mind Space project in 2004.

서울을 대표하는 한강, 세계 어느 도시와 견주어도 손색이 없을 아름다운 강에 미디어 예술을 통한 즐거움을 시민들에게 제공하고자 구축된 40m x 20m 키네틱 LED 스크린 구조선 세빛섬.
세빛섬의 조명연출, 반포대교의 조명과 함께 서울 강변에 아름다움을 더하고자 서울시와 효성그룹은 작가 송주명에게 4가지 시그니쳐 필름 제작을 의뢰한다.

송주명은 해비턴트의 시그니처 아트웍이 된 EYE CONTACT 작품을 개발한다.
한강 위 눈을 깜빡이며 부드러운 감정을 교감하는 거대 존재와 서울의 시민들은 절대적 신 혹은 연인을 연상하게 하는 등 각자의 존재들과 눈맞춤을 한다.
또한 숭고한 자연과의 조화를 목적으로 한 Greeting Flow는 시민들의 마음을 설레게 했고, 매시 거대한 뱃고동 소리와 함께 시간을 알리는 세빛섬의 시보는 올림픽고속도로를 달리는 수많은 시민의 답답함을 해소하기도 했다.

수변 무대의 기능을 가진 스크린 구조물은 전후방으로 움직이며 다목적 기능을 구현한다.
이는 공간디자이너 김치호의 설계이다. 해비턴트와 김치호는 2004년 Sony Mind Space 프로젝트로 시작된 협업을 지속한다.
